WHEREAS, the City of Asbury Park received and open bids for the project entitled,
“Boardwalk Replacement Project” on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 10:30 AM; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager/Temporary Purchasing Agent has reviewed the bids and is recommending award to Bird Construction as they are the lowest responsible and responsive bidder in an amount not to exceed $400,000.00; and
WHEREAS, the bid tabulation is attached to this Resolution; and
WHEREAS, the City has allocated $200,000.00 in FY17 and $200,000.00 in FY18 in the Beach Utility for a project amount of $400,000.00; and
WHEREAS, the CFO has Certified the Availability of Funds in account 8-05-55-546-000-904; and 8-05-55-512-002-001. The maximum dollar value of the pending contract is as set forth in this resolution.
WHEREAS, the City Manager is hereby authorized to sign any and all paperwork with the award and the City Clerk shall advertise the award as per law; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk is hereby authorized to advertise this award as per law; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Asbury Park, County of Monmouth and State of New Jersey that a contract shall be awarded to Bird Construction in a not to exceed amount of $400,000.00 for the Boardwalk Replacement Project; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute the contract for the Project
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution shall be provided electronically to the City Manager, CFO, Director of Public Works and the Beach Manager.
