Resolution Authoring Contracting Agent to Privately Sell Surplus Property

              WHEREAS, the City of Asbury Park entered into an agreement with IPS Group via Resolution 2017-244 for the purchase and installation of parking meters; and


WHEREAS, IPS Group has requested to acquire a surplus meter; and


WHEREAS, as per the New Jersey Local Public Contracts Law, both in part and in whole, N.J.S.A. 40A:11-36(6) and N.J.S.A. 40A:11-36(7) authorizes the contracting agent (Temporary Purchasing Agent) to include the sale of personal property no longer needed for public use as part of specifications of a new purchase; and


WHEREAS, the Temporary Purchasing Agent has determined that the value of an old meter is $1,000.00 and the IPS Group has accepted this amount to be credited against the purchase of new meters; and


WHEREAS, there shall be not cost to the City for the removal of the meter.


              NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Asbury Park, County of Monmouth and State of New Jersey that the City hereby authorizes the contracting agent to credit against the new purchase of a parking meter the value of an surplus meter in agreement with the IPS Group in an amount of $1,000.00.


              NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk shall provide a copy of this Resolution to the City Manager, CFO and the Transportation Manager.
