Resolution Providing for 2018 Temporary Budget Appropriations

WHEREAS, in the normal operations of the business of the City of Asbury Park, it will be necessary to make contracts, commitments, and payments prior to the adoption of the regular budget for the City of Asbury Park; and


WHEREAS, Revised Statutes 40A:4-19 of the State of New Jersey provide that the Governing Body of any municipality may make temporary appropriations to provide for any contracts, commitments or payments to be made between the beginning of the budget year and the adoption of the final budget; and


WHEREAS, the date of this resolution is within thirty (30) days of the month of January 2018; and


WHEREAS, the total amount of appropriations hereunder of  $13,133,305 for the General Fund, $3,993,702 for the Sewer Utility Operating Fund, $465,414 for the Beach Utility Operating Fund and $350,948 for the Parking Utility Operating Fund for 2018, exclusive of any 2018 appropriations made for Debt Service, Capital Improvement Fund, and Public Assistance does not exceed 26.25% of the 2017 budget.


NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the following Temporary Budget for the City of Asbury Park for the year 2018 be adopted, and a certified copy of this resolution be forwarded to the City’s Chief Financial Officer.
