WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 40:11-4.1(f) of the New Jersey Local Public Contracts Law (LPCL) authorizes the procurement of emergency medical services through Competitive Contracting; and


              WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 40:11-4.3 requires Competitive Contracting to be authorized by a Resolution of the governing body; and


              WHEREAS, the from time to time the need arises for a third party to provide Advanced Life Support (ALS) as an emergency medical service; and


              WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of the City of Asbury Park hereby authorize the City Manager/Temporary Purchasing Agent to utilize Competitive Contract for emergency medical services.


              NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Asbury Park, County of Monmouth, State of New Jersey, that the City Manager/Temporary Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to utilize competitive contracting for the procurement of ALS emergency medical services.


NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be provided to the CFO, Fire Chief, City Attorney and City Manager.
