WHEREAS, the State of New Jersey, Department of Public Safety, Division of Highway Traffic Safety, has posted the availability of funds for the 2017 Distracted Driving Statewide Crackdown Grant, requiring no matching funds.  The available amount of funding to the City of Asbury Park is $5,500, which will be reimbursed to the City of Asbury Park at the conclusion of the enforcement period;  and 

 

WHEREAS, the City of Asbury Park Police Department desires to apply for the purposes of participating in a statewide impaired driving enforcement program from April 1, 2017 through April 21, 2017;

 

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Asbury Park that, the Mayor, the Chief Financial Officer and the Acting Chief of Police, be and is hereby authorized to submit an application for funding to the State of New Jersey, Department of Law and Public Safety, Division of Highway Traffic Safety;  

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor, Clerk and Acting Chief of Police are hereby authorized to execute the required grant application and to provide submittals and documentation as required by the State of New Jersey, Department of Public Safety, Division of Highway Traffic Safety; and,

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of this resolution be forwarded to the City Manager, Chief Financial Officer, and the Acting Chief of Police of the City of Asbury Park.
