              NOW, THEREFORE, BE AND IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED, by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Asbury Park (the “City”), in the County of Monmouth and State of New Jersey, CHAPTER XXVI  PERSONNEL POLICIES SECTION 26-5 “MANDATORY DIRECT DEPOSIT” of the “Code of the City of Asbury Park, New Jersey is hereby amended and supplemented in order to add the following:

 

CHAPTER XXVI

Mandatory Direct Deposit

 

26-5.1 Introduction and enabling legislation

Pursuant to C. 52:14-15f.2b et. seq. P.L. 2013 c. 28, authorizes local governments to mandate direct deposit for governmental employees effective after July 1, 2014

 

26-5.2 Direct Deposit Required

All full time or biweekly paid employees shall have their net pay deposited via direct deposit.

 

Seasonal or part time employees are exempt from this requirement but can utilize direct deposit.

 

26.5.3 Role of the Chief Financial Officer

The Chief Financial Officer shall have the ability to grant limited, good cause waivers to the direct deposit mandate.
